Our Services.

The COVID-19 pandemic was one of the first instances where the world was facing a universal issue of loss. A loss of normalcy. A loss of life. A loss of a community. A loss of life. A loss of reality.

While we all collectively endured this pandemic, many marginalized communities are already familiar with the feeling of loss. Low-income and BIPOC communities have already been living a life of exhaustion from the lack of mental health resources, healthy food options nearby, technological inaccessibility, and much more barriers that have only been magnified in the pandemic. Our purpose is to ensure equity in mental health care, as well as accessibility and financial feasibility for those suffering and or without healthcare, regardless of race and ethnicity. Here is our main focus when offering our services:

Accessibility

For many individuals who sought to seek help during the pandemic, they failed to receive individualized support because of the influx of COVID patients. Additionally, many regions and districts across the world have limited healthcare options and hospitals nearby. At HealthKit, we are offering our services all in one place, for anyone across the world to use.

Community

Although we have ironically endured a universal issue together, we all feel incredibly alone. Whether it be the long-term effects of quarantine and remote learning for teens, or the social isolation faced among adults and elders. We all face similar battles alone, and at HealthKit, we aim to offer a transformative community to connect people around the world.

Education

For many groups who have long faced mental health issues and healthcare disparities, these feelings of exhaustion and isolation are familiar for families where this standard of living is their normal. Many people who have mental health issues struggle to first realize their conditions. Additionally, the lack of education in ethnic families and the stigma surrounding mental health discourages vulnerability. At HealthKit, we aim to regularly offer educational content on our website to inform people across the globe.

Initiatives

Various mental health resources existing already tend to produce repetitive methods of information and action. Additionally, there is a lack of intersectionality surrounding the discourse of mental health, as it particularly harms low-income communities and BIPOC families. At HealthKit, we aim to offer more than just education, but various programming and initiatives to engage folks of all ages across the world and revolutionize their understanding of mental health.

1) public group chats.

The HealthKit groupchat is a public community that will be moderated by HealthKit staff. This serves as an opportunity for people of any background to instantly connect with another person and receive an additional support system that they would not have otherwise gained elsewhere.

2) matching buddies program.

The matching buddies program is a HealthKit initiative where one person will be randomly paired with another person every 3 months. The person that you are randomly matched with in the program will be meeting with each other at least once a month for a period of 3 months.

A form will be shared later for folks interested in participating in the matching buddies program.

3) events.

We plan to host a myriad of events, such as speaker series with healthcare professionals, venting zoom calls, and much more. Stay tuned for these events that will be announced on our social media.
